I have and always will be the kind of woman who will always believe in the good of humanity. Since I can remember I have always been attracted to people and the stories they are willing to share with me. In my early 20's I pursued photojournalism, but It lead to burn out as I was lost in my own story. As a result I couldn't figure out my "Why" and I ended up leaving photography for what I thought was for good. I spent the next 10 years going thru what was some of the hardest and best years of my life. It changed and yet challenged me to find my truth of who do I want to be, in this world, and what am I willing to go thru to find it.
Roy Bennett says it perfectly, “If you don't know who you truly are, you'll never know what you really want." It's a wild concept to think you can walk in this body of yours and never really know who you are. I lived that way for most of my life. And it took hitting my breaking point where i was willing to go deeper with myself and face all that I feared. I realized there was nothing to be afraid of and I fell in love with the woman I was hiding from myself. Those challenging years of my life, helped empower and give me a greater level of confidence that I didn't have before. It required me believing in myself to realize my "Why." Which is the reason I came back to photography.
I understand why I fell into burnt out years ago. I didn't know who I was, I didn't know my purpose, I didn't believe in myself. It's always easier to believe in someone else's story. But its much harder to believe in yours. And you can't grow a business if you don't believe in your story. So now it is my goal to gift you what was given to me years ago. Belief, & confidence to uncover the vulnerability and humanity of your story. It is the backbone of your business. It unites people and ignites your spirit within to inspire others to believe in the good of humanity. Because at the end of the day.. its not the thing that you sell that wins people over. As people don't buy what you do, but why you do it. BIG difference.
Uncovering the depths of one's soul is a journey that will take a life time. But Whatever path your on now.. whatever vision your seeking out to create. I'm here to speak on your behalf with color, light, shadow and depth to your photographs. My goal is to invoke an emotion when someone looks upon your story. My goal is to remind you how incredibly powerful and beautiful you truly are. You too have a heart to give, a story to share, a purpose to change the hearts of mankind.
Ubuntu
One of my Favorite Words is Ubuntu - which means, "I am because we are. And since we are, therefor I am. " Its such a powerful statement that holds so much meaning and what I believe is the whole point of living. I carry this out in my work, as it is my purpose.
My Approach
